ISCs operate under a one-stop-shop model, bringing together representatives from key government entities within a single location to streamline approvals and services. This integration ensures faster processing, reduced administrative burden, and improved coordination across authorities.
Investor Service Centers are distributed across several governorates to ensure broad geographic coverage and facilitate investor access to services, supporting regional investment development.
Investment Dispute Settlement
Investment Law No. 72 of 2017 has established a comprehensive framework for resolving investment disputes, providing investors with multiple avenues to address conflicts with administrative authorities or the state through both amicable and institutional mechanisms, in addition to the option of arbitration or judicial proceedings. This framework aims to support the stability of the investment environment and enhance confidence in the business climate by offering effective, fair, and timely dispute resolution.
Investor Dispute Resolution Center
Established in 2009 within the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, this center specializes in resolving disputes through mediation. Organized according to UNCITRAL best practices, it provides a neutral and flexible framework to help parties reach consensual solutions and preserve contractual relationships.
Grievance Committees
Operating within the General Authority for Investment, these committees handle complaints against decisions issued under the Investment Law and provide reasoned rulings within defined timelines to ensure swift dispute resolution.
Ministerial Committee for Investment Dispute Settlement
Addresses disputes between investors and the state, issuing binding decisions upon approval by the Cabinet, ensuring high-level resolution authority for significant investment conflicts.
Ministerial Committee for Investment Contract Disputes
Resolves conflicts arising from investment contracts through flexible solutions, including rescheduling obligations or addressing contractual issues, providing practical remedies for investors.
This comprehensive system reflects the Egyptian government's commitment to providing an efficient and transparent investment environment, strengthening investor confidence, and supporting sustainable development.
Oversight & Inspection
Oversight and inspection services provide a comprehensive framework to ensure compliance and sound governance within companies, enhancing transparency and strengthening investor confidence.
Oversight Services
Focused on reviewing companies' compliance with applicable laws and regulations, examining complaints and financial or administrative violations, and allowing access to relevant records and documents. This helps protect investor rights, reduce risks, and deliver clear reports that support informed decision-making.
Inspection Services
Applied in cases requiring deeper investigation into serious violations, involving thorough and independent reviews supported by specialized legal and technical expertise. These services also provide an objective approach to handling disputes, with the possibility of reaching amicable solutions. The process concludes with clear reports and recommendations that help investors safeguard their investments and ensure business stability.
