Foreign Trade

Overview

Within the framework of enhancing the efficiency of the foreign trade system, in line with global economic developments and Egypt Vision 2030, and pursuant to Egypt’s relevant international commitments, the Central Department of Foreign Trade undertakes the proposal and drafting of laws and executive regulations governing import and export operations, ensuring their conformity with product quality specifications, standards, and technical requirements. It also monitors the implementation of trade policy instruments and continuously develops them to meet the needs of the domestic market and Egypt’s industry, ensure the stability of supply chains for essential food commodities, and reduce customs clearance times. This is aimed at alleviating burdens on exports and imports. Furthermore, it contributes to decisions aimed at curbing non-essential imports, prioritizing local products, and promoting emerging national industries to produce import substitutes.
