Law No. 7 of 2017 amends certain provisions of Law No. 121 of 1982 regarding the Importers Register in Egypt. It introduces new requirements for registration, including Egyptian nationality, at least two years of commercial activity, minimum capital and business volume, passing approved training courses, and depositing a financial guarantee or bank letter. The law imposes stricter penalties for violations and allows the competent minister to suspend registration for up to two years in case of breaches. Productive or service companies are exempted from registration for their operational needs.
